New Year’s Resolutions

I appreciate the opportunity I get each year to pick new focus points for personal development. I’m very happy with my commitment to the resolutions I made last year and hope for the same success in 2014. Here are the current areas I’d like to focus on this year.

1) Drink Less: Stop drinking for one month, and then limit myself to 3-4 drinks per day but a total of 12 drinks per week.

2) Not be hungover for an entire year

3) Floss every day

4) Try meditating 10-15 minutes every day for 1-2 months to see if it is helpful, if so continue

5) Start a business

6) Focus on being a more thoughtful person, give more to my friends and family. Listen more.

In the past I’ve never considered making a change to the amount of alcohol that I need to consume, but it’s been on my mind lately. I have so much to accomplish this year, and really don’t have time to waste being hungover anymore. I think it would also be helpful to move to a point where I’m strictly enjoying alcohol and not abusing it. I’ve been in great shape for the last year, but think that I will never approach the finish line while I’m eating healthy by day only to guzzle down liquid calories at night. #6 is proving to be a challenge to quantify and track on a daily basis, but I need to develop a method for doing so.
